Welcome to GMS Green Math!

A few years ago, Mrs. Sellers' 6th grade science classes began cultivating vegetables in box gardens. Students learned more than plant life science. They used math and problem-solving skills to plan, build, and sustain their gardens, and of course, they experienced the wonder of watching their plants grow from seemingly nothing and enjoyed the fresh goodness of their final products at harvest time.

During the 2010-2011 school year, we re-named our 8th grade math remediation class Green Math, because they continued and expanded the vegetable garden growing experience for GMS students. They used math and problem-solving skills to plan build a greenhouse on Glenvar Middle School's campus.
